Efraín Domínguez Jr. was raised in the city of New London having been born in Willimantic, Connecticut his mother decided to move the family to Dorado, Puerto Rico. After 5 years she decides to return to Connecticut and reside in New London.
He obtained an Associate of Science from Mitchell College, Bachelor in Spanish from Eastern Connecticut State University, and a Master in Education with a concentration in social Studies from the University of New Haven.
For the past twenty-three years Efraín has been an educator. Presently, he works as a bilingual social studies teacher at Bennie Dover Jackson Multi Campus in New London, Connecticut. Efrain served as the head coach for the New London High School wrestling team for eight years and was instrumental in setting up a feeder-wrestling program at the middle school. Also, he ran a free basketball camp called Basketball Explosion for 12 years for boys and girls ages 9-13 where he taught the fundamentals of basketball while ensuring they learn the valuable life skills of self-discipline, responsibility, and integrity.
Efrain is a member of Oasis of Restoration Church and has served as a Youth Pastor, an elder, a trustee, and director of Christian Education under the leadership of the late Pastor Candido Rivera Jr and Pastor Josue Rosado. In addition, he was a worker for 13 years in ICP International under the leadership of Dr. Bishop Jeremiah Torres.
He has ministered the Gospel in several countries in Central America, Europe, and the Caribbean Islands.
Efrain is an active member of his community, a 4-term city councilor and is the president of the New London City Council. Furthermore, he is the founder of the annual, “We are New London Parade” which celebrates its people and the rich cultural diversity of the city.
He is the founder and president of Arise and Shine Ministries based in New London, CT.
“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
