Pastor Benji Suprice is the youngest of three, born in Boston, Massachusetts to a God-centered Haitian community. At 13 he was baptized and began preaching to youth and adults at First Haitian Baptist Church of Boston and Jubilee Christian Church. Looking back, the best way for him to describe church was, “a beautiful and messy community following Jesus.” Like life, it was filled with various highs and lows but we committed to walk with Jesus in every season.
Pastor Benji received his undergraduate degree in 2018 from Gordon College, MA studying Biblical Studies and Sociology. Upon graduating, he moved to Charlottesville, VA for two years working at the University of Virginia. While there, Pastor Benji launched a youth ministry, created various YouTube content for preachers, studied the intersections of faith and justice, and grew in his passion for discipleship and walking alongside young people in the Church.
Pastor Benji moved to New London, Connecticut in August 2020 with no job, home, and a small community. While here, he has worked with the youth of Church of the City and as as a campus minister through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Connecticut College. But most importantly, he married Grace Martino-Suprice in May 2021–a wife that he could have done nothing without.
Pastor Benji hopes to continue developing spaces at Church of the City and across New London, where young people see both God and the Church as an invitation to family as he experienced in his own upbringing. Sometimes a bit messy, but committed to loving each other, loving others, and walking with Jesus wherever life leads.
